Roth is a company with a long history and a long-term vision. Sustainability is therefore of great importance to Roth. For this reason, the company has decided to consistently manage its sustainability activities in the future.
It usually takes two things for a company to introduce sustainability management: external expectations and internal readiness. This is definitely true for us. Until recently, our customers mainly asked about our operational environmental management. With our ISO 14001 certification, modern machine park, efficient building technology and our own photovoltaic system, we are exemplary in this area. However, all this is no longer enough. What is needed is a holistic approach to sustainability management. This means considering the entire value chain and taking the three pillars of ecology, economy and social responsibility into account.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The basic principle of sustainability is to consider future generations. As a family business run by the third generation, we naturally pay a lot of attention to this principle. This is why we are also committed to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We recognise the relevance and urgency of all 17 SDGs but have identified four goals that we can contribute most to achieving: quality education (SDG 4), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), responsible consumption and production (SDG 12) and climate action (SDG 13). Customers can obtain more information on request from our sustainability factsheet.
Environment, Social, Governance (ESG)
The principle of holistic sustainability is also reflected in today’s common trifecta of “ESG” (environment, social, governance). The concept of ESG originated in the financial market. Nowadys, however, it is applied across all sectors. In addition to our environmental indicators, we also want to define key performance indicators (KPIs) for the areas of social and corporate governance. The KPIs will help us determine where we stand by benchmarking the industry. They will also allow us to set measurable targets, analyse our progress and objectively report on it.
