A company’s social and environmental responsibility isn’t restricted to its own operations. It also includes the activities of its suppliers. In order to fulfil this responsibility as broadly as possible, Roth has developed a binding code of conduct for its suppliers.
The world of business has changed considerably in recent times. Large companies are expected to take more responsibility and be more transparent in their business practices. These increased due diligence requirements have been set down in EU and Swiss law. As an SME, we believe that we too must do our bit to ensure a more sustainable economy.
Forward-looking values
We are a company with a long tradition and long-term objectives. Long-term planning can only be successful if it is based on the concept of sustainability. For that reason, a considerate approach towards people and the environment is a matter of course for us as a business. Our employees are aware of our values and act in accordance with them on a daily basis. They set their focus on quality as well as on the sparing use of resources and take ethical considerations into account in all their decisions.
Code of conduct for suppliers
The values that we follow also apply to our suppliers. For that reason, we have drawn up a binding code of conduct for our suppliers which they must sign and comply with. Our code of conduct encompasses requirements for responsible business practices (anti-corruption policies, compliance with anti-trust law, reporting of conflicts of interest), human rights, fair working practices and environmental protection. It also includes requirements on avoiding the use of minerals from conflict zones and the prohibition of child labour. Accordingly, the code is based on the new Swiss regulations on improved protection of human beings and the environment.
With our clear values and strict code of conduct, we are leading by example on the journey towards a more sustainable future. They also enable us to meet our customers’ requirements, who in turn extend their responsibility to us as a supplier. We hope that this domino effect will encourage more and more companies to assume environmental and social responsibility.
